Migraines suck!

Migraines suck. I haven't really had one in a long time because now I'm on a daily medicine, but with today's wacky weather, I was in major pain. Luckily, I have a great kid.

Most mornings, we get up and sit on the couch with a cup of milk. Today, waiting for my medicine to kick in, I was laying on the couch. My adorable kid climbed up on the couch laid facing me and just hugged me. *melting my heart* he was such a good kid this morning. He watched some spongebob and played quietly and gave me a hug every time I put my hand over my face.

After a double dose of my medicine I am not functioning super well, so Costco hot dogs for dinner!

Cuddles

I have one cuddly kid. He loves to cuddle at nap time and he loves to cuddle in our bed. The other day he slept until seven in his bed but still wanted to come in bed with me and cuddle and drink milk. I love this part. I don't want it to ever go away but I know there will come the day when he tells me that he's too old to hug his mom. So for now, here are some recent cuddle bug pictures.

My growing kid

Yesterday we had to take Molly and conor to the dentist. I was not anticipating a good time for gabe. Fortunately, they have one of those cool tables that gabe absolutely loves!

It was so cool to see his mind and little fingers working to get the beads where he wanted them. This is so different from when we were at the doctor just a few months ago. Then, he was just spinning the beads. Now, he was purposely moving them along the track. He was so proud of himself. And I was admittedly proud of him too. My baby is getting so big!

We also got some snow yesterday. It's hard to tell from the pictures but gabe was pointing out the window at the snow. He was even saying "no!". It was snow, not no. He says no much more forcefully. (trust me! I hear it a lot now)

You can kinda see gabes hair in these pictures too. It's getting time for his first haircut. *sniff* I won't lie, I'm a little sad. It's like cutting away the last piece of baby. But, it's getting long and not really in a cute way. Any suggestions on places to go? I'd love to go to a place that makes it a big deal. (but not a big price).

Wordless Wednesday

It took all afternoon, but he finally fell asleep watching spongebob. Yes, watching tv. He will only watch spongebob, and asks for it anytime someone turns on the tv or changes stations.

Family weekend

Right now gabe is screaming and turning on his bedroom light. We are once again struggling with bedtime and it's driving me crazy! He is absolutely exhausted from the busy weekend that we had, but he won't go to sleep.

That was last night. I couldn't even finish because I had to go stand in his room so he would fall asleep.

So, our weekend (and today too) was jam packed with family. Saturday began with a baby shower for our cousin, ivonne. Then it was a big family party for jorges uncle.

Gosh, I have one handsome kid!

And some beautiful girls too!

Gabe loves these family parties. Sometimes it's hard to believe that he is our kid. Jorge and I were both really shy kids and gabe totally is not. As soo. As his favorite cousins got to the party he was off. Gabe and his twin cousins, Alexa and Elaine, ran around the hall playing some game and he was in heaven! He loves those girls. If it were me, I would have been in my moms lap the entire time.

Sunday morning, the family just hung out for a bit. The four of us jumped in our bed and just hung out.

Gabe loves playing with his daddy's blankie.

Today gabe and I went shopping with my mom. I love having Monday's off! I almost forgot! I actually did my hair on Saturday. I made three mini buns after I saw them on this super cool blog.

Valentines day

I don't always know what gabe looked like or what he was doing a year ago, but I do remember last year at this time. He was an adorably juicy baby.

It used to be so easy. Just prop him up and shoot.

Now, I had to face tears and put on spongebob just to get and ok shot.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Museum time!

I love that I live in such a great city. There is so much to do! Today was another trip to the museum of science and industry. Gabe loves it because there are a lot of things to touch and interact with. We went with jorges sisters and Sidney.

Sidney and jasmin became clowns....

Gabe got to drive a tractor....

And he loved this cow. He kept walking around it saying "cow, cow, cow". So cute! I didn't even know that he could say cow.

We also stopped by the submarine. I wonder what is going thru his mind when he sees something like that. He kept getting closer and closer to the glass. Was it because he wondered if there was something between him and the ground? Or was it because he wanted to touch the boat? Who knows? I'm glad he looked like he was enjoying himself.

So much fun that he passed out before we were even on lake shore drive!

It's going around....

I haven't really posted anything in quite some time. If you really think about it, Wednesday was a blow off because it was just pictures. Let me tell you why I have been m.i.a.

I'm depressed. I'm sad. And I am not the only one. I have had some time today to go and check out some other blogs that I like, and surprisingly I was not the only one feeling this way. Now, don't get too worried. I'm not going to harm myself depressed, I'm not even gotta see a dr depressed. I'm just emotionally and physically tired depressed.

Last week was LONG. Conor and Jorge were both sick. I had gabe 24/7 (literally, since he still sleeps with us for a bit). I was looking forward to a weekend away with Jorge, a break from the world. I got sick. It's just a cold, but I felt like crap. All I wanted to do was lay in bed with some tea. Instead I got to go to galena. Now I sound like a brat, but I wanted to relax and recover like Jorge did.

Gabe while we were away...

Galena was nice, but we returned to some unfortunate news (that I knew was coming). Over the weekend two people had passed away. My dance teachers husband and my friends grandpa. So I came back and had a wake to go to on Monday and Tuesday. I think this also has alot to do with feeling sad. I cannot imagine losing jorge and we've only been together 12 years. Imagine spending over half of your life with someone and now they aren't there....

Ok, so now that I have bummed everyone else out, I feel a little better. Not because I bummed you out, but because I let it out. Maybe tomorrow I will do a little (and I'm talking little) retail therapy. Jorge does need a valentines day gift!

I watched my friends son yesterday so that she could be at the wake and these pictures are of gabe and Kyle. Too cute those two!
